As a bonus to Bond’s Sept. 29 webinar about the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 for business, Bond labor and employment attorneys Andrew Bobrek and Peter Jones recorded a short video about when and why a business should create a remote work or telecommuting policy. Although there is no legal requirement in New York State to have such a policy in place, there are many good reasons to do so. Andy and Pete suggest employers first analyze how successful the telework structures they put in place during COVID-19 have been and then decide the value in reinforcing the organization’s expectations of remote workers (about productivity, responsiveness, availability, etc.) moving forward.
