As a bonus to Bond’s July 27 Back to Business webinar, Bond attorneys Katherine S. McClung and John C. Godsoe each recorded a short video about topics of interest to employers in New York State. 

In her video, labor and employment attorney Kate encouraged employers to make sure they’re complying with wage and hour law requirements for their employees working remotely. For example, employers still need to track hours for non-exempt employees and make sure they’re taking meal breaks.  

John, an attorney with Bond’s employee benefits and executive compensation practice, answered some questions about student loan reimbursement programs. In 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act expanded the definition of educational assistance programs (permitted in Internal Revenue Code § 127) to include student loan reimbursement.
