This complimentary, in-person three-hour training session for human services agency compliance officers will provide essential legal updates and information to effectively manage organizational risk. Human services organizations that provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders face an array of evolving federal and state regulatory obligations. This training is designed to help these organizations stay ahead of regulatory changes and effectively navigate oversight challenges. Targeted toward compliance officers and others with similar roles, this training will offer three Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Credits.

The Academy will provide guidance in the following key areas:

• Updated Federal and State Regulatory Requirements – Each year brings new federal and state regulations. The first hour will offer a comprehensive overview of the latest requirements.
• Hot Topics in Compliance – Beyond core regulatory responsibilities, compliance officers must stay informed on emerging legal and regulatory issues, such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, governance and health information privacy. This session will cover recent enforcement priorities and key developments from the past year.
• Government Oversight and Best Practices – Even with a strong compliance program, government oversight is unavoidable. This session will review best practices for responding to oversight from federal and state regulatory agencies, the Justice Center and the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General.
